SAIT’s varsity soccer has come back from COVID with a “BANG” to leave quite an impression of things to come in the future in the ACAC and quite possibly in the CCAA. Not only did the Men’s and Women’s Soccer Teams take home the gold in the 2021-22 ACAC Soccer Championships, but they dominated the 2021-22 ACAC Futsal Championships too!
For the women’s team, this is the first futsal title for the Trojans, who set an ACAC record for most goals scored in a championship final with their 5-2 win over the Keyano Huskiesl. The previous mark of 4 was last achieved in 2015 by the Medicine Hat Rattlers.
A 7-3 decision Sunday night over the King Eagles secured for SAIT their first men’s futsal title. The win also marks the first time in ACAC history that one school has swept both the men’s and women’s soccer and futsal championships!
